This week our littlest turned 2. And even though I have the fun balloon dancing/cupcake eating/celebration images, this one will forever be my favorite from the day.
Here’s a big sister that’s so excited for her little sister that she’s serving her breakfast and doning her with a birthday hat at 5:55 in the morning. After staying up late to help me decorate the night before. After picking out presents the weeks before and squealing about how happy her little sister is going to be to open them. After a month of reminding her little sister that her special day is coming up and “isn’t it going to be the best day ever?”
They’re sisters. They’re going to argue and snatch toys and make each other cry from time to time. But to see the love they’ve built up for one another over the course of two years, and to feel like I managed to capture a snippet of that, makes this one for the memory books.
