Every time I walk into a hospital room to do a newborn session, something happens that causes a big wave of nostalgia to take me over for a second. With this beautiful family, it was seeing the new big brother eating those little packs of hospital meal crackers on his dad’s lap. My oldest was around his age when her little sister was born, and seeing those crumbs on the seat reminded me so much of how those little stolen snacks from my food tray seemed to soften the new altered reality of another little human now sharing the attention of mom and dad.
It’s always the little things isn’t it?
But I digress.
Now moving on to tell you a bit about this session: I was so fortunate to photograph this sweet family when they welcomed their first son into the world, so it was an honor to be able to document their family growing from three to four! I’ve said it before, but having the chance to capture the newness of life and the family surrounding the baby with awe and love is something that can’t really be put into words.
Which is why now I stop talking and just show you their story….
Ruth Whiteside - Hi Lindsey from Claire’s mom – these photos are precious!
Lindsey Zovko - Thank you, Ruth! It’s such a pleasure to photograph your sweet family.
