I’ve been working on creating a questionnaire that allows me to get a sense of what to expect when I come to do a lifestyle session with parents of young children. One question I ask is “what would be included in your child’s perfect day at home?”
If I were to answer that question about my three year old Lily, at least this month’s version of Lily, a perfect day at home would include:
- picking our her own outfits, yet avoiding pants at all costs
- surrounding herself with all things girly
- dancing
- “teaching” (um, bossing around) her stuffed animals
- pulling all stops to make her poker face sister laugh
- reading books (for enjoyment and avoidance purposes)
- writing with Sharpies or ink pens: washable markers are just way too safe for her taste
Well, and let’s be real, Lily would probably tell you that at least once a day she likes to have a raging meltdown just to condition my patience. I’ll save that for a later post, once I’m able to actually put down my petrified eight month old and document the madness as it unfolds. For now, enjoy the parts of the day that make me want to freeze time with my little firecracker.
Sarah Schwartz - Yup! Lifestyle is your calling. This is absolutely amazing!
Laurel - I love her “Blue Steel” look! 🙂 I would love to spend a day just watching her. She sounds like a hoot! 🙂
Lindsey Zovko - She’s entertaining for sure! And the “blue steel” look is actually “get that dang camera out of my face,” and she does do that well;)
