Back in my kindergarten teaching days, Logan was the best sidekick I could ask for in the classroom. Always smiling, always relaxed, always willing to just go with the flow. Plus she has a contagious laugh, and some of my best memories are those that involved innocent but hilarious comments from students that would inevitably throw us into a fit of laughter just by looking at each other.
Anyway, when it came time for me to leave teaching, everyone in the school was hopeful that Logan would take my spot – but for reasons we couldn’t understand at the time, that didn’t happen.
So, she took the opportunity to move to Arizona on a teaching adventure. Which made us sad to say goodbye and perseverate on the question of “why didn’t she get that job?!”
Then, she met Patrick.
And it became a little more clear why that didn’t happen. Because if she had taken my job, she wouldn’t have moved and she wouldn’t have met the love of her life. Ah ha. As the saying goes, “You may not always end up where you thought you were going, but you will always end up where you are meant to be.”
(Now scroll on down to see Logan and Patrick’s beautiful wedding day, starting at Kenwood, leading to the UVA Chapel, and ultimately ending at Old Metropolitan Hall on the downtown mall. As you’ll see, the day was as relaxed and fun and joyful as the two of them…)
