The day before Denise and Yuxin were scheduled to drive down from Maryland for their engagement session, the forecast was looking a little iffy. But they sent me a message saying they were okay with a little rain – and my heart went aflutter, for I do so love couples who are willing to roll with the elements. In this case, not only are they just that laid back, but given that Yuxin’s name translates to “happy rain,” they thought it would be fun to have just that as part of the session.
Unfortunatley their hope for some sprinkles didn’t happen and ironically the clouds burst open about five minutes after we parted ways to head home. Because doesn’t it always seem that when you’re wishing for rain – or snow (like this entire winter here in Virginia) – it doesn’t actually happen? Which makes me think that maybe everyone’s been approaching wedding days all wrong and should actually start hoping it rains on their wedding day?
