They eloped on a summer day in North Carolina. Traveling from Virginia, they ran out of gas on the way there, but they still managed to get to the officiant in time. After an exchange of vows, they celebrated with dinner at a diner with friends and a honeymoon night at a little hotel.
Their only regret is that they don’t have pictures, but they tell the story with vivid memory and a chuckle. The day was simple and sweet, and I adore the fact that their epic marriage started with such little fanfare.
Last month we celebrated their love story with a little impromptu photo shoot. It all started with talks of recreating a picture they’d taken many moons ago, but then it turned into shots of cuddles and laughter, no different than what happens when I’m photographing couples young in love- picture proof that true love truly is timeless.
